LEAP FORWARD INTO SPRING

Simon Smith welcomes the new season and the launch of a Celebration of Spring menu at the Freemasons

We have suffered a winter that seems to have been never ending, the wet and cold leaving us all feeling pretty miserable! However spring is just beginning to promise better things to come and it is no surprise that the Freemasons have launched their Celebration of Spring menu to cheer us along!

So many times we visit restaurants expecting new and exciting seasonal dishes only to be disappointed by the same dishes we were offered three months previously.

The team at the Freemasons pride themselves on creating dishes from the latest fresh ingredients to tantalise our tastebuds. Of course, there are a few must-have dishes that customers would kill the chef for if they weren’t available! But the new creations are really fresh and exciting.

New season English asparagus with a fondue of Proctor’s Kick Ass Cheddar sounds amazing. Jersey Royals cooked in bacon dashi with morels and bulldog sauce also very tempting!

For main course flame grilled loin of organic salmon with a sauce of wild sorrel and buttered Jersey Royals, spring lamb with new season peas, served French style and accompanied by a fresh mint sauce, plus an organic chicken with new season asparagus, wild garlic and Yakitori livers look like the stand-out dishes!

There’s also fresh fish of the day from Giles of Wellgate, Clitheroe, served simply grilled with lemon and brown butter, tender stem broccoli with Southport potted shrimps – a delicious fresh spring feast if you love fish.

The choice of menus at the Freemasons is easy – you can have as much or as little as the mood takes you. Taste of Freemasons gives you at least eight courses of the very latest creations from the kitchen – a veritable banquet, studded with wines to match if you are in for a real treat!

More simply a choice from the Celebration of Spring means you can choose two or three courses at great prices served for lunch or early dinner.

Then of course the a la carte gives complete freedom of choice across the whole menu!

The team at the Freemasons is always striving to bring special events to life with a Chippy Tea and the Food and Wine club, superb seasonal British food expertly matched with sensational wines by Miles Corish Master of Wine.

‘Don’t forget about Dad’ – a special three-course Father’s Day menu crafted to put a smile on dad’s face with half price for all the children to make a great family celebration.

The Freemasons is especially proud to be able to cater for many special family occasions with the team happy to listen to your requests and cater accordingly, to make that special day memorable.

If you like to plan ahead into the summer the Great Freemasons’ Summer BBQ is planned for 27th August so book it now! You won’t regret it – local sausages, burgers and fish, with lashings of beer and ales from around the world. Al fresco dining at its best!
