Longridge Gallery has some fantastic new artwork created by local and national artists during lockdown
“It’s great to be back!” This was Longridge Gallery owner Alistair Sheret’s overwhelming feeling when the gallery was allowed to open its doors again.
“We’ve really missed our customers and since we’ve re-opened they have said how much they have come to value local, independent retailers.”
The gallery has been busy since restrictions were lifted particularly framing textile projects completed during lockdown. “The time at home has allowed customers to finish work they started some months previously,” explains Alistair.
The artists represented by the gallery have also been busy. There are fantastic new collections from local stars John Chapman, Steve Rostron and Ricky Young and incredibly collectable new editions from nationally recognised artists Fabian Perez, Doug Hyde, Leigh Lambert and Andrei Protsouk.
“Both Doug Hyde and Leigh Lambert launched new pieces during lockdown which both recognised the NHS. The sale of every print contributed to NHS charities – both pieces were massively over-subscribed and a considerable six-figure sum was raised.”
Before re-opening, the gallery conducted a rigorous Covid-19 safety audit so customers and staff are safe.
“Our drive to ensure we work with our customers to secure that perfect new artwork or beautifully frame a piece of their own is unchanged.”
