Conveniently located between Kirkham and Poulton and just off the M55, you will find West View Farm, home to Norbreck Self Storage. The high-security technology begins at the iron gates with entry only accessible via an app, fob or speaker to the sleek new reception office.
Managing Director, Philip Halhead, a third-generation dairy farmer and owner of Norbreck Genetics, bought West View Farm in April 2023, its acreage housing a number of outbuildings, a farmhouse and of course, open land. He explained: “I was looking to diversify my existing business and saw the potential here in Greenhalgh. Straight away we started demolition and conversions to the existing buildings to currently offer storage spaces between 20 and 200 square feet in size.”
Storage remains one of the UK’s best-kept secrets. Unlike in America, where nearly every household has easy access to self-storage units for storing personal belongings or decluttering their homes, UK consumers have yet to fully grasp the advantages of utilising storage units.
The beauty of this rural location is that there is no fighting through traffic or needing to navigate lifts as is often the case with urban storage locations. “We can offer complete privacy,” said Phil, “where clients can come anytime between 7am and 9pm and just drop off, collect or spend time in their unit as they wish. We are always willing to lend a hand or advise our customers should they need us. They can even bring the dog for a walk in our fields!”
When it comes to security and technology, Norbreck Self Storage are leading the way in the North West. An app will open the gate and doors to the storage units, ANPR cameras are mounted around the site. Both Phil and operations manager, Sally King, will talk customers through the easy-to-use tech and entry fobs are also available if preferred.
The differing types of storage units can safely store a wide variety of items depending on the best conditions required to house them. There are climate-controlled units available and the square footage can store a minimum of a few boxes right up to the contents of a four bedroom house. Business storage is also available here, providing a convenient space to store stock and equipment including hard or soft goods and even warehouse solutions.
Phil continued: “We offer both short and long term contracts, conveniently commissioned on a monthly basis and bookable online or over the phone. It is a high-quality, bespoke service.”
