Outdoor Fun!

“The idea of hiring electric bikes in the Ribble Valley came from wanting to give people the opportunity to access this amazing cycling countryside,” says Ribble Valley E-Bikes owner Roger Wolstenholme. “The Ribble Valley is one of the country’s most beautiful landscapes and e-bikes are the perfect way for everyone to enjoy the stunning scenery, towns and villages. The option to hire opens up this brilliant activity to more people and offers a great day out on your doorstep.”

E-bikes make light work of hills and allow you to cover more ground easily. Hire for a half day, full day or several days if you are visiting the area or want to make the most of a holiday at home. “Anyone can easily cover 25 miles in half a day on an e-bike – it’s a fabulous way to spend time outdoors,” enthuses Roger.

Ribble Valley E-Bikes is located at the old garage in picturesque Dunsop Bridge. “It’s the perfect base, surrounded by quiet country lanes, so you don’t need to worry if you’re nervous or haven’t cycled for years,” says Roger, who has a new workshop for maintenance and repairs.

“It is such a popular area – it was famously Bradley Wiggins’ training ground. If you can ride a push bike, you can ride an e-bike”.

E-bikes are restricted to age 14+ for road use because they’re motor-powered so regular children’s bikes are available to hire too.

E-bikes are also available to purchase online or in-store. “Our range offers quality and reliability at a sensible price, including VOLT commuter and hybrid e-bikes, affordable touring e-bikes from Raleigh, and road and mountain e-bikes from Lapierre,” explains Roger. “We are part of the cycle to work scheme and our location means you can come and try out the bikes so you know it is the right bike for you – we take the hire charge off any purchase.”

Ribble Valley E-Bikes set you up with self-guided routes and are partnering with local pubs and accommodations including Browsholme Hall, the Spread Eagle at Sawley and the Red Pump at Bashall Eaves to combine scenic routes, bike storage and charging facilities with exceptional hospitality.

With plenty of safe social distancing and all Covid-compliance measures in place, hiring an e-bike offers healthy outdoor fun while staying in your local area. You can book online and the hire bikes from British manufacturer VOLT include hybrid-style and road oriented e-bikes, which are ideal for enjoying quiet country lanes. Helmets are included and panniers are available to take a picnic, but there are plenty of picturesque pubs, tearooms and cafes to visit on your e-bike adventures.
