Outstanding Care for your Little Ones

When it comes to our children, we all want them to have the best start in life, writes Tracy Hargreaves

School’s Out at St Teresas on Stanley Grove, Penwortham is a before and after school and holiday club for 3-12 year olds. The brainchild of owner Sarah Allen, it only launched in 2012 yet has already been rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

Sarah, who has worked with children all her life, wanted to create an environment that is attractive and supportive of children’s play, where they have free choice to explore, enhance, and enjoy the world around us.

She says: “We have lots of planned activities from den making and baking, to arts and crafts and we get involved in the community, including the Penwortham Gala and Scarecrow Festival. This year we are excited to be part of the Bee in the City event in Manchester. We love seeing happy children and watching them develop.”

Breakfast club is 7.30am until 9am and after school is 3pm-6pm, where snacks are provided, many of them made by the children such as pizzas and muffins and is for children from St Teresas and Penwortham County Primary School. The holiday club is open to anyone in the area from 7.30am-6pm.

“We pride ourselves on our flexibility,” says Sarah. “Parents can either book a term at a time, one off cover or we can work around shift patterns. We also have an open-door policy, so parents can drop in to see what we are about.”
