PERFECT SUMMER SETTING…

The long hazy days of summer are perfect for al fresco dining at the Gibbon Bridge which is located in the heart of the beautiful Bowland countryside

Set in stunning grounds and surrounded by fells and meadowland is the rural idyll that is the Gibbon Bridge.

This award-winning hotel that is renowned for its delicious food and unrivalled service, is the perfect setting for dining al fresco under the summer sun.

With a beautiful conservatory that leads onto the terrace, the grounds of the Gibbon Bridge are perfectly manicured to make your dining experience memorable.

The conservatory, with its huge glass doors brings the outside in, enabling diners to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Natural light floods into the room, which is perfect for a private dining experience.

This is a magical setting with guests having the option of pre-lunch or pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the gardens, and heated dining pergolas present another dining option that gives groups of guests the opportunity to dine al fresco in the grounds.

Gibbon Bridge owner Janet Simpson, an accomplished chef who has travelled the world, has devised a stunning summer menu using local produce and, of course, fruit and vegetables grown in the hotel’s expansive kitchen gardens and bread baked in the in-house bakery.

Guests dining al fresco can expect deliciously simple food designed to be enjoyed outdoors – hearty homemade beef burgers in brioche buns, pizzas cooked in the hotel’s outdoor pizza oven as well as more sophisticated options including poached salmon with sweet chilli sauce, flash-fried squid with tomato and Tequila salsa and a crispy duck salad topped with Julienne of vegetables.

Afternoon tea is also a highlight at the Gibbon Bridge which must be one of the most elegant settings in Lancashire to sit and enjoy this quintessentially English occasion. Featuring delicious sandwiches, scones and cream cakes, speciality teas and coffee, guests can also opt to enjoy a glass of fizz under the summer sun too. All the cakes, breads and preserves are made in the hotel’s bakery.
