Celebrating natural fragrances, Annie Lane candles represent the ultimate in luxury. The collection has been meticulously curated by Lancashire stylist and entrepreneur Ann Greaves, whose sole aim is to inspire and evoke memories through beautiful scents.
With inspiration taken from the everyday and the ordinary around the globe, such as freshly cut flowers, clean linen and freshly picked oranges and lemons, Annie Lane candles are hand poured in the UK using the finest mineral wax, essential oils and fragrances.
Creating the candles has been a four-year journey for Ann, who worked as a stylist for 30 years for a major UK retailer.
“Once I had the idea in my mind it just wouldn’t go away. I wanted to create a collection of candles that truly evoked memories, holidays on the beach as I remember them, fresh fragrances, as well as earthy ones that recall memories of log fires and walking in the rain.”
To create the Annie Lane collection, named after her grandmother, Ann consulted a top perfumier: “I said I wanted fragrances that make people feel good and gave a list of the natural ingredients that I particularly love.”
With a business acquaintance and friend, who is an industrial chemist, Ann was also able to get first class advice in order to optimise the fragrance and ‘burn’ time of each candle. She also consulted local design experts on packaging.
Fast forward to 2018 and Ann was ready to launch her signature collection of Annie Lane candles, beautifully presented in handmade luxury slate grey boxes and sleeves, adorned with the Annie Lane monogram in buttercup yellow.
Inside each box is the candle itself, that when lit, fragrances a room with a freshness that emulates nature and the outdoors. The collection of eight fragrances includes Fig & Red Poppy with spice and floral scents, Lemon Geranium evoking images of spring sunrises and dew on the grass along with Beach Retreat encapsulating hints of green and freesia petals warmed with golden amber.
The Annie Lane candles signature collection comes in three different sizes – 30cl, travel sets of four votives and a three wick 50cl candle.
“When the first candle was sent to me in the packaging I couldn’t believe how beautiful and luxurious they were and the feedback I have had has been fantastic! A friend who loves the Lime & Ruby Grapefruit said it reminded her of a trip we made to Barcelona and that’s what the fragrance was based upon.”
“Similarly the Lemon & Geranium is based on a holiday on the Amalfi Coast.”
With the candles hand made at every stage of their production, Ann is now hoping to get the collection into major stores throughout the UK and has already placed them in outlets in Singapore and the US – under her Annie Lane USA brand.
