Summertime In Longridge

If you live in the Ribble Valley you will undoubtedly be aware of all that Longridge has to offer. With its independent businesses it’s definitely a great place to visit!

As it sits on a hilltop, or long ridge, the town of Longridge has breath-taking views across the surrounding rural Ribble Valley.

With a Heritage and Visitor Centre located in the Old Station, in the centre of the town, Longridge is famed for its high street, Berry Lane, which features many and varied independent businesses. It is very much the hub of the town with a thriving selection of shops including longstanding family businesses and more recent arrivals.

Recent additions to the high street include Tails of the Town, a quirky eco-friendly pet food and accessories shop that’s sure to thrive, given how much we all love our pets!

Touchwood Flooring have also just moved on to Berry Lane with their stunning collection of solid wood and luxury vinyl flooring as well as a great selection of locally-manufactured and eco-friendly carpets.

Famed for its high quality household goods is Swifts Hardware that was recently hit by a serious fire. However, showing the agility and determination that got many businesses through lockdown, this family business is continuing to trade from the back of the shop and neighbouring business Pipkins is trading through a series of pop-up shops.

It’s essential that the surrounding communities supports independent businesses like these to ensure that they continue to succeed.

Also on Berry Lane are a good number of service businesses including chartered accountants, business advisers and financial advisers, who have many years’ experience helping local businesses and individuals plan for the future.

With new places to eat and new businesses opening their doors, Longridge is once again flourishing and it’s great to see shoppers enjoying and appreciating all that the town has to offer.
