A KEY MEMBER OF THE ‘BRIDE TRIBE’

Besides a photographer, caterer and a VIP to walk her down the aisle, there’s now another person a bride needs in her team. Today’s brides have a talented event stylist as a speed dial staple, as Donna Carley from Blend explains

Around 26 per cent of people in the UK enlisted the help of a wedding planner last year and the desire to keep up with Insta-worthy weddings has created a social pressure to stylise every element of the big day.

Curated colour palettes, flower adorned walls, textured linen and luxury tablescapes aren’t just demanded by those who like to splash the cash. Event stylists work with lots of couples who find it overwhelmingly difficult to plan and style an event, while others have magical ideas but lack the know-how to bring it all together.

Professional florist and stylist, Donna Carley, has launched a niche design service called Blend. It takes the stress factor out of wedding planning, putting the creativeness into the hands of an expert.

Donna said: “Standard room dressings, lack of table decor and the ‘one size fits all model’ is a thing of the past. At Blend, it’s about understanding that no two brides are the same and every couple is unique.”

“I view my role as a sort of wedding fairy godmother, providing planning support, design, style advice and a little black book of contacts all to help couples through their planning journey.”

Contrary to belief, wedding event stylists can help save money too. Donna finds cost effective solutions to create a desired effect and has worked within a diverse range of customised budgets.

From mood boards and floristry to full event styling and execution, couples can opt for a selection of services based on their budget. Each bride and groom receives a one-to-one consultation to discuss their aspirations ahead of the big day.
