Preston City Centre is set to come alive with a packed calendar of events this year. From festivals to celebrations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy

The annual Caribbean Carnival kicks off the festivities on 27th and 28th May at Moor Park, Preston, featuring a vibrant procession, stunning costumes, live music and dancing. Jazz lovers can look forward to Young Jazz in the Square and Jazzin’ the Park, both taking place in Winckley Square on the 3rd and 10th June.

The Preston City Mela at Moor Park on 17th June celebrates South Asian arts, culture and tradition with performances, traditional music and workshops. Windrush 75 Festival, on 18th June at Avenham Park, celebrates the contributions of the Windrush generation to British society.

Armed Forces Day on 24th June in the City Centre is a day of remembrance and respect for Preston’s serving soldiers and their families. The Preston City Wrestling Showcase on 19th August at the Flag Market promises a captivating display of strength and aerial acrobatics.

Encounter Festival returns from 15th to 17th September, celebrating the diverse cultural offer of Lancashire with high-quality arts and performances. Finally, on 23rd September, head to the Flag Market and support Preston’s LGBTQIA+ community at Preston Pride, featuring fabulous acts, entertainment and stalls.
