Healthy Hair on Holiday

Exposing your hair to the sun, sand and sea can cause damage that lasts long after your tan fades

One of the most obvious ways to protect your hair from the sun is to wear a hat, yet many of us don’t. A wide brimmed hat will also shade your face and eyes from the glare of the sun so it’s an added bonus.

Sunburn hurts at the best of times – but a sunburned scalp can be painful. You don’t always want to slap sun cream onto your parting, but there are scalp protector sprays available, which are lightweight and non-greasy.

Condition, condition, condition. The sun can dry out your hair so make sure you condition before you go away and whilst on holiday.

If you are swimming in the sea or pool, make sure you rinse your hair afterwards to prevent it drying out. Then if possible comb through with a wide toothed comb and use a detangle spray.

Avoid hairdryers and straighteners and try let your hair dry naturally. Your hair will already be exposed to heat, so it doesn’t need any extra. Keeping your hair up can protect it but some bobbles can cause your hair to break.

Label.m has some great products to keep your hair in tip top condition.
