IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR

Freddie’s owner Freddie Cunliffe’s philosophy has always been that every client must feel like part of the family as soon as they walk through the doors.

For family has been key to the success of the salon which this month celebrates 27 years at the top of the hairdressing business.

Freddie is joined on the salon floor by his husband Matt Threlfall and his niece Beth Dickinson, who are both senior stylists specialising in the latest colour technology.

Joining them are long-serving stylists Hayley Miller who has worked at Freddie’s for 27 years, Jade Rothwell and Nick Wright who have been part of the Freddie’s family for 18 and 12 years respectively.

Freddie remains convinced that his staff’s loyalty is down to the salon retaining its family atmosphere despite being at the forefront of the latest technological advances and techniques in hair care.

Freddie explains: “I am immensely proud to say that my family and staff have worked here for such a long time. We know each other inside out, and we can support each other to produce the best work possible for our clients.

“Between us we have 130 years of hairdressing experience on the salon floor – and it shows in the work that we do.”

“This has been recognised by the fact that over the years we have received seven British hairdressing nominations. This is proof that the best work doesn’t just go on in the big city centre salons in Manchester, Liverpool or London.”

Freddie works closely with leading haircare brand Schwarzkopf to ensure his staff get the best training and are constantly updating their knowledge to ensure they are up to speed with the latest styles, techniques and haircare developments.

And it isn’t just the staff who have remained loyal. Many of Freddie’s clients have been with him from the day he opened the Bank Street salon’s doors 27 years ago.

And some of them even travel hundreds of miles every month just to get the Freddie’s treatment.

He says: “Some of our clients have been with us for so long that they too feel like part of the family – and we wouldn’t want it any other way.”

“Some of them may have moved to the other side of the country, but they still make the journey to come here to see their favourite stylist.”

“But we want every client – new or old – to feel comfortable as soon as they walk through the doors. We pride ourselves in giving every single client the luxury salon experience – and we want them to walk out of here feeling and looking their best.”
