Jak: Apprentice
Our apprentice, Jak, loves his job as it involves learning new skills within a close-knit team, with plenty of laughs to be had every day. Jak’s current passion is for felting and battening.
Although he loves the views from the roofs of Brockhall Village, Jack’s dream is to one day work on the roof of Buckingham Palace, where LRB’s work would be seen and known far and wide!
This year Jak won the apprentice ‘Above and Beyond’ award at Preston College which highlights his dedication to the job, his exceptional work ethic and commitment to becoming a qualified roofer with LRB.
Lewis: Trainee Roofer
Meet Lewis, the self-proclaimed and proven ‘best labourer’ at LRB. With a passion for roofing and a knack for tile-bumping, he’s always up for a challenge. He believes that the true beauty of LRB is the endless opportunities for growth and each project is helping him to master his craft.
Lewis’ favourite part of his job is the breath-taking views that allow him to appreciate the landscape and spot interesting wildlife. Despite having to deal with dauntingly high rooftops, Lewis always brings his A-game.
Charlie: Roofer and Builder
While Charlie takes great pride in his work, his favourite part of being in the LRB team is the opportunity to crack a joke or two with his colleagues.
If you get the chance, ask Charlie about his favourite tool and he’ll proudly show you his trusty old hammer, an old faithful on countless projects.
When it comes to dream roofs, Charlie imagines being on a gorgeous Swiss mountain, taking in the incredible views.
Out of work Charlie is also a history buff with a soft spot for WW2 documentaries and not forgetting he is mad about cars.
Although the newest member of the LRB team, Charlie has proven to be an asset to the company and has just passed his probationary period.
Charlie: Manager
Our faithful Site Manager Charlie’s greatest strength is his ability to conquer any roofing challenge, be it felt, rubber or whatever else you throw at him. And with his trusty Estwing hammer, Charlie is ready for any roofing project.
Before starting his roofing career, Charlie left school to join the army and he can often be seen implementing these honourable traits and values into both his work and also the team at LRB.
With over six years experience as a roofer, Charlie has honed his skills through various courses and training sessions and now his dream job is to work on a heritage level cathedral or church to test his lead skills. While LRB is known for providing outstanding work, Charlie considers George, Director of Lancashire Roofing and Building, one the best parts of working there, as George supports each member fully to reach their potential.
Jack: Roofer and Builder
Jack is a talented builder with a knack for making people smile and is a firm favourite with customers of LRB. Jack brings professionalism and humour to every site, along with his trusty toolbelt and quick wit. Ask Jack about his favourite tool and it would be the BIG grinder.
Jack is delighted to work for LRB and is very proud of the reputable business that George, his brother and Director of Lancashire Roofing and Building has built.
Jack takes immense pride in each project – so aims to keep all of his jobs tidy. When it comes to his favourite type of roof, Jack always says a flat roof.
George: Director
Working in construction since leaving school, George holds a wealth of knowledge, experience and qualifications in the trade. He has worked on several major oil and mine sites in New Zealand and Australia, specialising in working at heights in both scaffolding and roofing.
The aim for George was always to ultimately set up his own business and when his beloved father passed away during the pandemic, George and his young family moved back to the UK permanently and saw it as the right time to set up Lancashire Roofing and Building Ltd.
George’s vision when it comes to LRB isn’t to be the biggest company but to be the best!
He strives not only to ensure that LRB consistently delivers the finest service and workmanship to the people of Lancashire, but to also provide excellent employment to their staff.
LRB is one big family, literally – within the team is George’s brother Jack and brother-in-law Charlie. Together with his wife-to-be, George has worked extremely hard to ensure that LRB continuously excels within the industry.
