It seems like there is no such thing as the wedding season these days as couples are choosing to marry throughout the year.
Snow softly falling on a crisp winter’s day can be just as romantic as a sunshine-filled summer wedding but whatever the season, you must choose your venue wisely.

As a couple you may want to marry at the venue as opposed to a church wedding and once again, most venues in the area are licensed to hold civil ceremonies.
Dressing your venue is just as important as the dress itself! There are lots of options available so you can really put your own stamp on it. Most venues these days positively encourage individuality enabling couples to make their own choices from flowers to food.
For a touch of romance and style make sure you choose flowers in abundance – whatever the bloom they need to have impact! If you are going for a formal look opt for dramatic, tall table arrangements that create a stunning centrepiece. White always works well and is ultimately stylish but if you want to match the venue flowers to your own specific colour theme, go ahead!
On to the food, and venues nowadays don’t tend to have set wedding breakfast menus – the choice is yours. Most wedding organisers love it when couples have a clear idea of what style of menu they would like. The trend for a more relaxed informal menu, as opposed to fine dining, continues with couples opting for food that reflect their northern roots.
Canapes with champagne on arrival may be followed by a meal that includes local Lancashire produce – be it a luxury pie made from locally raised beef to a hot pot featuring lamb that has grazed on local moorlands.
Choosing drinks for your wedding is also made easier if your venue has a sommelier that can advise on pairing food and wine. And, if your venue is in a marquee or tipi and you are providing your own drinks, why not ask the advice of one of the many local wine merchants who are ultimately knowledgeable and can make pairing suggestions.
