Seasonal Taste Sensations

Make your next eating-out adventure, or festive get-together, one to remember with the irresistible dishes on offer at Gibbon Bridge, one of the Ribble Valley’s most prestigious hotels and restaurants

The seasons will soon change and with festivities approaching too, the team at Gibbon Bridge are warming up for the Christmas period with additions to their menus.

Initially introduced at the end of last month, there are some real stand-outs that will remain available for those looking for an extra special Christmas lunch or dinner.

A jewel in the crown of the beautiful Ribble Valley, Gibbon Bridge has long-been synonymous with quality cuisine and sumptuous splendour, coupled with a friendly team and stunning gardens and views. In between the wind and the rain we can be treated to the most magnificent of experiences, whether stopping by for a sandwich or a full two or three-course meal in the dining room. Calm, cosy and classic, the team at this award-winning hotel are spoiling us with their Celebrate, Dine and Stay offering, furthered by their range of festive events to mark the most wonderful time of the year.

Reflecting the abundance of amazing products available locally gives the talented chefs a superb basis for creating new dishes for us to enjoy. The hotel offers great value staycation breaks, with the option to include lunch or dinner, giving the opportunity to enjoy the peace, tranquillity, warmth, comfort and joy of the hotel and its grounds. Be wined and dined on the chef’s latest delicious creations, devised by head chef Gary and his bountied brigade. Many of the dishes are long-standing favourites and staples of the restaurant, as are the staff.

Gin cured Salmon, Crispy Pork Belly with Black Pudding and delicious home-made traditional soups are still there, whilst tantalising new additions to the menu include Filo Pastry with tasty Goats Cheese Mousse served with a delightful Bean and Blush Tomato Salad as a very light and tasty starter dish. Main course options include Fillet of Cod served on a Spiced Aubergine Puree, Basil Oil and Chorizo Crisps and Pheasant are a must have delicacy and so the perfectly presented breast wrapped in bacon accompanied by a confit thigh, with beetroot and blackberries running through the delicious jus. The mouth-watering dessert menu, a cornucopia of traditional puddings, Apple Pie and Ice Cream or Custard and the irresistible classic Syrup Sponge Pudding with Custard, are not to be missed. Their on-site bakery, established more than 40 years ago, continues to amaze with a tempting selection of freshly baked bread, cakes, biscuits and desserts so you don’t need to miss out on traditional treats like Crème Brulée or the irresistible Sticky Toffee Pudding!

All these delicious dishes can be enjoyed at lunch time, in the evening and of course the unmissable family Sunday lunch.

All the menus can be viewed online and tables can also be booked on the website.

Don’t forget to have a look what’s on, particularly with the festive season approaching you are certain to find something to take you fancy, and with even more unique and new events planned for the new year, hosted in partnership with local brands, you won’t be disappointed!
