Set in a 16th century barn, Owd Barn is home to a well-stocked farm shop, Butcher Farrell’s Meat Emporium, a licensed tearoom, gift shop and home interiors loft space. Then there’s the neighbouring Spud Shed, offering a range of independent businesses including, Vitality Spa, Oak Wine Shop, Hul&Bert Jewellery and The Yoga Collaboration.
Just 30 minutes’ drive from central Preston, Owd Barn is the perfect place to spend time with family or friends, or to simply treat yourself at the spa!
Gifts, farm shop and tearoom treats
In the tearoom, children and adults are spoilt for choice with a range of traditional farmhouse homemade meals as well as a daily choice of delicious cakes. There’s also traditional and speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks, plus locally produced Fredericks ice cream. The rustic, farmhouse style afternoon tea is also extremely popular, just make sure you book 48 hours in advance for that!
Owd Barn’s farm shop is full of seasonal produce including local strawberries and tomatoes from Hesketh Bank and homegrown cauliflower, broccoli and new potatoes from the family’s own 200-acre farm. Set within the farm shop is Butcher Farrell’s Meat Emporium where all meat is ethically produced from small independent UK farms.
And, if you’re looking for gifts, the mezzanine floor in the barn offers a stunning range of homeware, jewellery, candles, clothing and other accessories. Popular at the moment are Powder sunglasses which all come in their own beautiful gift bags and there’s a new larger greeting card display with stationery and cook books coming soon, too.
At the weekend, Owd Barn hosts a range of pop-up shops in their new outdoor huts. An array of local traders and makers are using them so see social media for more.
