The Rum Fox in Grindleton has very quickly become a favourite place to dine for many – and now there is the chance to host your party or event there too! Gail Bailey chatted to chef patron Bob Geldeard to find out more
The Rum Fox in Grindleton has gained a host of regular diners since opening its doors in March last year: “The aim has always been to provide the finest food and drink with an emphasis on the seasonal, the local and the surprising,” says chef Bob Geldeard.
The stylish and cosy surroundings allow customers to dine in the restaurant, bar, private dining room or the wonderful garden room with an amazing louvred retractable roof – perfect to enjoy the summer sun. The pub really is the ideal place to relax, unwind and sample some of the sensational spring and summer menus Bob has created: “We change our dishes weekly dependent upon ingredients,” he explains.
Adding to the success Bob and the team have now introduced the opportunity for customers to host their celebrations at The Rum Fox and it couldn’t be a more perfect spot to raise a glass with family and friends: “We have customers taking over the whole pub for an evening or day celebration,” says Bob. “Or for smaller events we have our beautiful private dining space that seats 10 guests or the garden room where we can host up to 30.”
Big birthdays, weddings and christenings are just some of the celebrations that people are hosting at The Rum Fox: “We can create a bespoke menu so guests can indulge in a thoughtfully curated array of delicious dishes – using seasonal produce tailored to suit the event,” Bob explains.
Up to 70 people can be catered for in the whole pub, and events already held have included live music or a DJ. The relaxed and stylish surroundings combined with the culinary delights created by Bob really do make The Rum Fox the ideal place to enjoy a special day with special people.
Bob and his team have left no stone unturned in creating a dining experience that is truly unforgettable and as we head into spring there are plenty of wonderful dishes on offer along with the popular two or three-course set lunch menu being extended into an early tea-time treat. Bob says: “We have introduced this popular offer for those who want to come along between 5pm and 6.30pm – perfect for unwinding after work or at the end of a busy day.”
It’s no wonder that The Rum Fox is quickly becoming the go-to spot for those who enjoy fabulous food in fabulous surroundings.
