Top Dad

Sunday 17th June is Father’s Day. This year, why not treat them to something a little bit special to say thank you, writes Tracy Hargreaves

We all probably remember one or two things our dads helped us with as we were growing up, whether it was teaching you to ride a bike, sitting through endless school plays, helping with homework or offering advice about your latest boyfriend. Whatever it was, sometimes we don’t always appreciate what they did for us until we are grown up ourselves with children of our own.

So, what better way to say thank you than treating him to something special for Father’s Day. Forgo the slippers, the tie and the countless pairs of socks and look at really showing your gratitude. We’re not talking private yachts or a cruise but luxury gifts that he can also get use out of.

Here are some of our suggestions for ideas to make Father’s Day a day to remember.

Fitness dad

Why not take a look at a Fitbit or a Fitbit Blaze Smart Watch. Perfect for monitoring activity but will also keep him in good shape too.

Adventurous dad

What about a GoPro? GoPro’s top-flight action camera is packed with tech to immortalise every second of your dad’s adrenaline-fuelled antics, whether he’s hammering down mountain bike trails with mates or enjoying pool time with the kids during the family holiday.

Playful dad

How about a PlayStation Pro? (Yes, dads like to play games too) or a SPHERO BB-9E? Zoom this badass Bluetooth droid around the living room using smartphone controls. And when the family inevitably sits down to watch Star Wars, BB-9E will interact with key scenes in the film. Great fun for all the family.

Sophisticated dad

A new watch is always a favourite. Add some style to his wrist and look at simple yet classy designs that will look good and he can show off to his friends.

Gadget dad

A drone will keep him occupied for ages and he’ll be able to take some amazing photos.

Cool dad

Summer is on its way and what better than to own a pair of Rayban sunglasses, so your dad can look cool and protect his eyes at the same time.

Travel dad

Is your dad going away? Whether it’s for a one-night business trip or a holiday with the family, then a grained leather washbag is a must. Essential for carrying all those toiletries and smellies.

This year think of something different for your top dad.
