There’s a good reason why Lucy Lou’s social media videos go viral – it’s not just their on-trend summer dresses and lovely accessories, it’s their ‘Be your own kind of beautiful’ ethos that really sets them apart.
Run by a mum and daughter partnership, Gillian and Lucy Harper, Lucy Lou’s Boutique caters for petite and curvier ladies of all ages, as Lucy explains: “We have always had a good social media presence, shooting videos of new stock in the shop and talking about our clothes and how they are for ‘real life’ women.”
One of the summer’s great successes is Lucy Lou’s Magic dress – a super-popular maxi that also comes in a midi style for more petite ladies.
“Our customer are loving it!” says Lucy. “It’s a best seller and comes in different prints including paisley, florals and leopard and it fits any size from 8-20.”
Lucy Lou’s all-year-round Magic trousers have also proved incredibly popular. Made from cotton elastane, these come in a range of seasonal colourways and can be worn long or casually turned up.
Catering for all ages as well as sizes, Lucy Lou’s also features beautiful dresses, tops and skirts as well as a lovely collection of accessories.
Always keeping ahead of the industry, Lucy Lou’s is enjoying a busy summer and is looking to the autumn when Lucy predicts that the big seller will be Lucy Lou’s fabulous faux fur gilet.
“We are very much led by our customers and what they want,” says Lucy, who opened the Penwortham boutique with her mum earlier this year, following the opening of their first boutique in Churchtown in 2019 and their second in Beales department store, Southport, in 2021.
