FIT FOR SUMMER

Want to know the best tips for getting yourself in shape in the shortest term possible? Read on!

1. Bang for buck, focus on what’s going to have the most impact with regards to fat loss. Rule one – calorie deficit, it’s a simple fact that you can’t burn body fat without being in deficit. You may be cutting calories down or increasing output but either way there needs to be a deficit between input and output.

2. Going to the gym. Consistency beats intensity, it’s better to go to the gym every day and do a little bit than go once and train so hard that you can’t move for four days. Keep your workouts manageable and at a level you can sustain for the long term not just a few weeks.

3. Improve your sleep. For me this is non-negotiable, if you don’t sleep well you’ll find burning fat harder. When you are tired, it’s harder to workout well and harder to stick to a diet. Poor sleep also messes with your blood sugar regulation which effects your ability to lose weight.

4. They say the basics are too basic, but the basics are important – hydrate. When you’re hydrated you find weight loss easier, your strength goes up and your body works better.

5. Track your food. If you are guessing what you’re eating you are probably not hitting the calories, or macros you should to achieve your goals and if you don’t want to track food, your other option is meal prep or a strict diet programme – that way you know what you are eating and where you need to make changes.

Changing your body and your lifestyle can be hard by yourself, but you don’t have to go it alone.
