IT’S ALL HAPPENING!

They say good things come in threes – for me two is quite enough right now! Recently engaged Olivia Beaty talks about finding a first home and embarking on plans for her wedding

We started our search for our first home together just before Christmas and after weeks of searching we have finally had an offer accepted and are now awaiting our exchange date.

The start of the house hunting process was incredibly exciting, however about a month into our pursuit I thought we were never going to find what we were looking for! After considering all options including a new build or an older property, after much thought we decided to go for ‘a project’, which funnily enough, we were completely against at the start.

With my ‘mood board’ carefully laid out and homes and interiors magazines dominating my parent’s house, we are eager to get the keys and start the transformation!

Next our attention will turn to wedding planning and like house hunting, we will consider all alternatives – a church wedding? A prestigious venue or a DIY occasion? We are really spoilt for choice with numerous stunning venues in the area.

At present we are quite undecided about the venue however the idea of a DIY style wedding does appeal to my fiancé and I, possibly a teepee or marquee in a remote countryside setting. Of course this may all change when we begin to look around!

On the other hand the one thing I am not unsure about is my dress. I have in mind exactly what I would like – but I can’t tell you that!

From flowers to favours I can’t wait to start putting plans into place but I must admit I totally underestimated how much there is to think about. But with our friends and family around us, we plan on enjoying every second.

It’s an extremely exciting time for us right now and it seems bizarre to think that one day in the future we will be sitting in our newly-refurbished home as a married couple!
