Managing Director, Gavin Preston, Registered Manager, Hilary Hampton and their team of 20 Care Givers pride themselves on improving the quality of life of their clients enabling them to live safely and happily in their own homes.
Right at Home is a highly respected international home care franchise network with independently owned locations all over the UK. The Preston and South Ribble branch has been established for more than 10 years offering dedicated personal care and support to elderly people, as well as adults with physical disabilities who need extra support to live an independent life in their own home.
Hilary explained: “We offer a number of services including medication administration, companionship, personal, live-in care, respite and end of life care. At Right at Home Preston & South Ribble, we don’t take off travel time on our visits which enables our Care Givers to spend every allotted minute with our clients – there is no rushing. As a family run business, we care for our clients as we would for our own family members – compassionately, respectfully and with a never-ending willingness to go the extra mile.”
The fully trained Care Givers help with both practical tasks – such as making or changing beds, light housework and preparing meals together – with personal tasks – such as washing and dressing, continence care, wake ups and bedtimes. Care plans are built around the client’s specific needs and preferences.
Gavin said: “Our Care Givers are also specially trained to provide practical and emotional support to those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. We work closely with clients’ needs and wishes together with family members who are able to view when the visits take place and notes taken, through a special online portal. All our staff are stringently checked and Care Givers are only employed once they passed all of the safe recruitment checks and have been signed off as competent following in house training and shadowing. They then go onto complete the Care Certificate certification during their first three months of working with us.”
Right at Home Preston & South Ribble works closely with a number of partners such as GPs and occupational therapists and can signpost clients and their families to other relevant services. When it comes to funding, partner organisations are on hand to advise on the availability of financial support such as Attendance Allowance and funding from the NHS and Direct Payments funding from local authorities.
The wide geographical area covered by the Preston and South Ribble branch include Penwortham, Leyland, Fulwood, Kirkham, Ingol, Broughton and as far north as Forton. An expansion in the coming months will include introducing services in Lytham and Garstang.
