T Forrest is steeped in family tradition and has been trading in Lancashire since 1937: “My great-great-grandma Fanny Wallbank bought the business from Tommy Forrest, and for many years supplied the agricultural industry in and around Blackburn as corn merchants,” explains Head of Business Development Daniel Wallbank.

A family of animal lovers, the business evolved and began manufacturing dog food before moving solely to treats, supplying trade with high quality products, made in their own factory and focusing on nutritional value and health benefits.

T Forrest is still very much family led and holds the original company values close: “Real ingredients and nutritional value are central to what we do,” Daniel says. “We believe owners should know what they are feeding their pet and why, so we list all our ingredients and provide information on the health benefits of each.” The company goes to great lengths to source ingredients locally – continually striving to give your beloved pets nothing but the best.

“We keep it simple,” Daniel explains. “Nature provides all the ingredients for a healthy diet, so we don’t add any fillers to our recipes – just 100 per cent wholesome goodness – and importantly before any of our products leave the building our highly experienced four-legged taste testers ensure nothing leaves without their full seal of approval!”

The company ethos at T Forrest is about a whole team approach and Daniel explains how they all wear many different hats: “We each have our individual roles but very much work together and no two days are the same – if something needs doing it’s all hands on deck to support each other and get it done.”

Lockdown has increased the number of dog owners and while traditionally T Forrest supplied trade only this has changed in recent years with them now selling online direct to the public. Daniel says: “People can log onto our website and buy treats for their pet – the site also has lots of information to support dog owners from the right food and treats to things to avoid, along with training tips and advice.”

T Forrest hold 60-70 per cent of the UK market share and the future now sees the company expand internationally: “One of our strategies is to develop our overseas business and the whole team is excited to start planning and growing our market beyond the UK.”

Our pets are our best friends, our everyday heroes and our loyal companions. They give us their unconditional love and deserve the best care we can provide and the mission at T Forrest is to give them the best nutrition, the finest treats and the highest quality products.
