Renowned for their exquisite gentleman’s clothing collections, the team at Scruples 1984 have taken a refined approach to its S/S collections, choosing only the best signature names for which it has become well known.

Founder Stephen Collins and retail manager Tom Orrell, are looking forward to hosting collections from their travels to Milan for their 2023 S/S buying expedition.

This season, they introduce Canali, one of the most prestigious, luxury menswear suiting brands in the world and a fantastic addition to the Scruples portfolio.

Tom explains: “We are delighted to offer our customers such an exclusive opportunity from Canali, which produces stunning suits and knitwear for summer. It’s a whole new journey for us working with Canali and we are delighted with the pieces.

“The Canali showroom is set within a series of luxury apartments and shared outdoor space with the Inter Milan HQ. For Scruples to be supported by such a prestigious brand as Canali is phenomenal!”

Being ultimately selective with their latest collections, Tom and Stephen have opted for the best names in the business.

Heritage British brand Belstaff, known for their classic waxed country jackets, have launched a limited edition Aloe green suede jacket – ideal for spring: “We are finding that each brand is bringing out something special,” says Tom.

Always keen to add a pop of colour to any outfit, Tom is delighted to see new designs from the likes of Paul & Shark, denim by Italian stretch specialist Tramarossa and French-Canadian brand Mackage, who have a fabulous new collection of hoodies and casual wear with a real spring pop!

Expect to see continental beachwear brand Vilebrequin at Scruples too alongside playful shirt designs by ETON, plus the arrival of a small and exclusive, new collection of Jeffrey West shoes, in soft suede, which has caused a flurry of interest and excitement at the Barrowford store.

But let’s not forget what Scruples 1984 has become renowned for – exquisite made-to-measure tailoring. Having its own in-store tailoring brand Rupert Totti, Scruples is seeing an upsurge in customers who want a smarter look: “Customers are wanting a smart jacket and contrasting trousers – the made to measure side of the business is always busy but we have experienced a real upturn.”

Having direct access to some of the world’s best fabrics including Loro Piana – a name that graces the exclusive malls of Dubai and Monaco, Scruples 1984 has a speedy, made-to-measure four-week turnaround: “This year’s on-trend colours are similar to last year but we are seeing a new take on the classic navy suit – everyone has one, but combining the design opportunities with made-to-measure makes it so much more exciting” says Tom.

“Our customers love the fact that they can make an item of clothing totally unique to them. January was one of our busiest months ever with regards to made-to-measure. It’s been amazing!”
