RELAXED & ELEGANT

While the outdoor space at the Black Bull Inn, Old Langho, has been a roaring success, the beautifully refurbished indoor spaces are now open, where diners can enjoy fine dining and exceptional wine in the elegant restaurant or a home-made pie and a cask ale in the rustic, wood-cladded bar. Having made outdoor dining a magical experience, the team at the Black Bull Inn at Old Langho have expanded their focus and continuous improvement agenda to the interior of the pub and restaurant.

As you enter the front of this historic coaching inn, visitors will be welcomed and wowed by two very distinct areas with their own identity. Turn right to the rustic bar – the ideal place for walkers and their dogs or guests who want to relax with a hearty home-cooked classic meal and a pint, in front of a roaring log fire.

Turn left and visitors will be blown away by the opulent restaurant – a spectacular environment to enjoy fine dining and exceptional wine with family and friends. Take a journey through the uniquely designed restaurant to view the beautifully refurbished Fire Barn and recently renovated library room that has a ‘drawing room’ feel with its illuminated clock and Yamaha grand piano.

These two distinctive interior spaces are also matched by two very different menus – on the bar and garden menu are delicious fish, meat and vegetarian platters, a selection of classics including the Black Bull’s signature home-made burgers, Lancashire bomb cheese and onion pie, steak and ale pot pie, beer battered haddock, flatbreads and sandwiches.

While on the restaurant’s new a la carte, there is an opportunity to really indulge – pre-order a classic chateaubriand or cote de boeuf for a dining experience that is paired to the luxurious environment as well as the handpicked wines! There are dishes with a Mediterranean twist such as Moroccan chermoula lamb rump as well as classics such as fillet of wild seabass and a delicious seafood linguine with salmon, haddock, fresh mussels and king prawns served with a creamy white wine and garlic broth.

Rebecca Govier, Managing Director explains: “The last few weeks have been a huge success for the Black Bull Inn with our beautiful outdoor dining area being enjoyed by guests from far and wide, now the time has come to expand and enhance that experience further as we invite our customers inside once again.”

With an impressive stretch tent, known as the pavilion, and new patio area all beautifully illuminated and heated to keep diners warm and comfortable, the outdoor dining experience has proven so successful that it will continue to operate all year round at the Black Bull Inn.

Katherine Renhard, the Black Bull’s Executive Director adds: “The pavilion with its pontoon lighting and outdoor heating has created a wonderful space in which to dine, with our guests having indoor seating available once again we can now provide two very different but equally enchanting experiences.”

Very much at the heart of the community, the Black Bull Inn has been transformed by Rebecca and Jamie: “We aimed to bring a new dimension to this historic venue improving both the aesthetics as well as customer experience, paired with excellence in food and beverage. While keeping its character and retaining heritage, the wider business has changed beyond recognition,” adds Rebecca.

“We have always wanted to create something unique. There are many exciting places to dine in the Ribble Valley, but we wanted to create elegant spaces with a twist. Our new outdoor area continues this focus and has proved to be a phenomenal success – we would really like to thank our guests for their continued support.

“We now look forward to welcoming everyone back inside the bar and restaurant. It’s a very exciting time for everyone at the Black Bull – the team here are like family.”
