While April may be known for showers, it’s also a month when the sun starts to shine even though the temperatures remain slightly chilly, so a jacket or coat that looks casually stylish is an essential this season.

At Scruples 1984 menswear store the latest key pieces have arrived and to the delight of store manager Tom Orrell and founder Stephen Collins the collection is undeniably fabulous!

“We are buying really prestigious world-renowned labels and this latest collection perfectly reflects this,” says Tom.

HERNO
Lightweight jackets and coats from premium Italian giant Herno represent one of the largest collections of this brand that Scruples 1984 has had since the menswear store was founded.

Featuring scooter jackets and oversized mackintosh coats in classic navy, Herno have also introduced a new colour, Tortoya, a distinctive taupe: “The oversize fit can be seen in pieces across all the main collections and it’s selling really well,” adds Tom.

MONTECORE
Scruples have just taken delivery of its second seasonal collection of Montecore, another premium Italian brand that features a lightweight ‘shacket’ – a single skin piece in high performance fabric: “This is a real stand-out piece,” says Tom. Also from Montecore is a double-breasted longline car coat in light grey: “This is a wonderful coat and it’s selling like hot cakes – a real hit!”

MACKAGE
Specialist outerwear brand Mackage is this season presenting a more sporty look with a reversible windproof shell – the jacket comes in solid cream on one side with a black and cream quirky print on the other. Whichever way you choose to wear it, it is a stunner! Also from Mackage is a hooded jacket with full zip, jersey arms and a quilted hood and front: “We love Mackage and so do our customers – they will certainly be impressed with the latest collection.”

BELSTAFF
Classic British brand Belstaff is celebrating 100 years and they have a new collection to mark this milestone. Also featuring reversible pieces, the new Belstaff Centenary four-pocket safari coat comes in black and camel while one of Belstaff’s signature jackets, the Trialmaster, has been re-worked for this season into a light grey performance piece made of water-resistant and breathable ripstop with a luminous bright-yellow lining.

“Belstaff have really made an impact on us with their latest Centenary line. We are big fans of the brand,” says Tom.

PAUL & SHARK
The ever-popular Paul & Shark have new lightweight navy bomber jackets in their collection and all the usual, ultimately stylish pieces for which they are renowned. Call into Scruples to take a look and see this impressive line-up from Paul & Shark.

TOM FORD & DITA
With summer on the horizon, we can’t ignore Scruples’ fabulous collection of Tom Ford sunglasses – plus a brand new range Dita – all handmade in Japan: “This is a really prestigious label and we are very lucky to have this opportunity to stock Dita. It’s a luxury brand that goes well with Scruples’ ethos to source the best pieces that the fashion world has to offer,” concludes Tom.
