Customers at ShoeMed return time and time again for the expert fitting service and vast choice – hand-picked by Neil and Julia Howarth, who endeavour to find the best solution for every individual.

If you have wide feet, painful feet, a medical condition such as plantar fasciitis or you simply want the ultimate in comfort for perfect feet – ShoeMed are experts when it comes to measuring, fitting – and listening!

Neil and Julia ask customers to allow an hour for their first consultation, when they discuss any foot issues, activities they enjoy such as walking or dancing and what style of shoes that will suit them, and their feet, best.

“We take the time to get to know our customers as it helps us determine what is going to be the best product for them,” says Neil.

“It is important that they tell us about their feet and any medical conditions like diabetes that may affect their feet.”

Each customer at ShoeMed has their own personal fitting record so subsequent visits take less time, as previous measurements and preferences are at hand.

This personal service is what gives customers the confidence that they will leave with shoes that not only fit perfectly, but are stylish and comfortable. “It is vital that shoes are comfortable and practical as well as looking good!” says Julia.

New to ShoeMed is Dutch crafted brand Gijs for men who want a more formal, yet comfortable shoe. The Gijs shoes at ShoeMed are leather brogue-style shoes that feature a deep in-step for those who need extra room: “We spotted a gap in the market for formal, yet comfortable personally fitted shoes – and the Gijs brand is perfect,” explains Neil. “I have been ‘test-driving’ a pair and they are absolutely brilliant!”

Other great brands featuring at ShoeMed include Finn Comfort, Waldlaufer, Drucker, Semler, EasyB, Dutch brand Durea, Drucker, Joya, Legero and YDA along with stretch brand Fidelio from Austria, that are seam-free – perfect for those who have arthritis or swollen joints.

“Each brand offers something different,” says Julia. “There are different widths and depths and our customers get a free of charge bespoke measuring service, so we are able to give them various options. We are here to help and we want people to leave our shop with shoes that fit perfectly!”
